Courses
Flexibility - The key areas that should be flexible, and the areas that should be stable.
Strength - The importance of strength, what is important & how to achieve it. The neurology of exercise as related to a complex movement, the Neuroplasticity of exercise training.
Balance - How to test it for the golf swing, how to specifically train it. A different and effective approach.
Coordination - What makes the golf swing effective, key insights to coordination of hands, shoulders, hips.
From this perspective you will be able to apply exercises that mirror the golf swing to accelerate neuromuscular motor control and create a golf performance program based on the biomechanics of the golf swing. These are new concepts that many of the PGA Tour players use, provided in a format for the recreational golfer, who is one of your target audiences.   You will learn how to train and improve the golf swing movement of the amateur, recreational golfer, high and low handicap golfer, which is your market. I have trained thousands of golfers, I will show you how.
The BACKtoGOLF Total Performance Seminar also provides insight to golf related injuries, management of joint replacements and senior golfers.
Learning Objectives

1. The physical therapist will be able to appreciate the biomechanics of the golf swing, flexibility, strength, balance and coordination as related to the golf swing movement.

2. The physical therapist will be able to appreciate the relationship of myofascial, osteokinematics and arthrokinematics of the full golf swing.

3. The physical therapist will be able to appreciate the postural compensations and how they influence the golf swing. In addition, the latest research on motor control, learning and neuroplasticity as it applies to exercise and retraining of movement.

4. The physical therapist will be able to appreciate the golf swing phases and be able to evaluate the golf swing from a biomechanical perspective using the BACKtoGOLF Six Step Evaluation.

5. The physical therapist will be able to identify common swing faults, their consequences to the spine and extremities.

6. The physical therapist will be able to apply soft tissue/joint mobilization techniques and exercises to correct the golf swing faults.

7. The physical therapist will be able to develop a golf performance program within a variety of settings.

8. The physical therapist will be able to market and communicate with golfers, golfer professionals and others regarding the golf swing, and concepts of the “Stabilized Spine Golf Swing™ ”.

9. The physical therapist will be able to analyze the common golf swing faults in detail, and apply advanced exercises, and other neuromuscular techniques to correct the swing problems.

10. The physical therapist will be able to apply the concepts, techniques and exercise program immediately, and find orthopedic applications for other patients.   An added benefit of this seminar is receiving the foundation information on developing a Posture and Balance Program for the general neuro/ortho population.
