What is the Stretchbetter Technique?
 
    The Stretchbetter technique is a unique form of manual therapy that has been developed through the skills, studies and the unique experience of our staff professionals.  Also know as Body Work, The Stretchbetter technique is ideally implemented after the evaluation phase of our performance programming.  It servers as the gateway to corrective exercise prescription and assures that our customers, clients and athletes will maximize the benefits from our services.  

    This unique technique encompasses and utilizes many of the latest techniques utilized in the field of manual therapy with a focus on the use of various tools and soft tissue implements to assist in the application of this specialized hands-on approach.  The next phase of the technique utilizes the concept of stretching for performance as we prepare for the corrective exercise program to follow.

What is Corrective Exercise?

    The body consists of an alternating pattern of stable segments connected by mobile joints.  If this pattern is altered or compromised, dysfunction and compensation may occur leading to injury and/or poor performance.  We evaluate the body and its movement patterns to determine if these limitations are directly affecting each individual.  

    Once these limitations and deficits are identified our professional team will attempt to apply a series of exercise techniques each designed to restore alternating patterns, minimize functional imbalances and restore normal movement patterns.  Corrective exercise is typically prescribed following and/or during the application of hands-on techniques such as The Stretchbetter Technique.
